Does Anghami Censor Songs or Lyrics?

Anghami does not censor music. We make songs available exactly as they are delivered to us by the record labels and distributors.

Record labels are responsible for identifying whether songs or albums contain explicit content. In the MENA region, which is considered a “clean-only” market, music is typically released in clean (non-explicit) versions. This is an industry-wide standard applied across all digital platforms in the region — not just Anghami.

Often, an album may be available in both explicit and clean versions. By default, both versions will appear on Anghami, and explicit songs are shown by default.

How to Hide or Show Explicit Songs:

  1. Go to Music Settings in your Anghami app

  2. Scroll down to Hide Explicit Songs

  3. Tap to turn the setting On or Off

Please note: The explicit filter only removes songs with explicit language. Clean versions remain available in the app.
